St.Moritz has somewhat of a monopoly when it comes to chic winter sports events catering to the super-rich with an equestrian theme. Hot on the heels of the annual snow polo tournament comes this annual horse race, the only one in the world set on snow, held on the frozen lake of St. Moritz. It attracts some 30,000 spectators each year, many of whom are "the rich and beautiful", as the event organiser claims, who alongside the races enjoy everything from art exhibitions, live music, gourmet food and of course lots of champagne. In case you are wondering about the dress code, the attending high society has only one theme, which is fur, fur and more fur - from head to toe. Oh and a tiny dog is an essential accessory, dressed in fur, of course.
