Tasmania might be known as the apple isle, but it could just as easily be known as the whisky isle. This August, Tasmanian Whisky Week will celebrate the state’s best drams with eight days of whisky-centric frivolities.

The week kicks off on Sunday, August 11 with a launch party at Hobart’s Story bar where guests will enjoy burgers smoked with staves from whisky barrels alongside cocktails. There are also full-day distillery bus tours to hop onboard; a progressive dinner at four of Hobart’s hottest restaurants; a rare whisky auction and a movie night with Bill Lark of Lark Distillery.

For those looking for a truly rejuvenating whisky experience, book into Pumphouse Point’s Whisky Escape. The two-day retreat puts you up at the spectacularly located Pumphouse Point on Lake St Clair while you explore nearby distilleries. Included in the experience is a masterclass at Spring Bay Distillery, a grazing lunch, tastings, and a grand feast at Pumphouse where you’ll get to sample exclusive whiskies from Old Kempton Distillery.

Tasmanian Whisky Week is on from August 11 to 18. Visit the website for the full line-up.
