Earlier this year, we revealed our ranking of the most beautiful places in the UK to visit in 2026. The list spans colourful Welsh towns, Cornish castles and magical looking caves in the Peak District. And luckily for you, you’ve still got a few months left of the year to get out and experience some of these stunners IRL.

If you’re looking for an arty sojourn, Charleston Farmhouse in East Sussex, should be on your list. Named as the sixth most beautiful place in the UK, the farmhouse is the former home of two of the 20th century’s most prolific aesthetes, Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, and was a regular haunt of the Bloomsbury group, so no wonder it’s so gorgeous.

This bohemian hangout turned museum has an ivy-clad exterior with a sugar pink door. On the inside, things get even better, because every inch of the house has been hand-painted by Bell and Graham – from the doors to the fireplaces to the window frames to the bath tub. There are delights to be found in every nook and cranny – a lampshade fashioned from a colander and glass beads here, a plaster-cast pair of ears mounted on the wall there. Geometric motifs, flowers, fish and playful patterns fill every single room.
