With its cherry blossom trees and luminous green onyx flooring, The Ivy Asia draws in the Instagram set like moths to a flame. The swanky pan-Asian chain has restaurants across London, Liverpool, Cardiff, Brighton, Leeds and Guildford. Its theatrical interiors, elegant plates of sashimi and swish bowls of curry have been a mainstay on our feeds for more than five years now. And this autumn, there’s another branch on the way.
In October, The Ivy Asia will make its Scottish debut. It’ll open in Glasgow, next door to the new, larger home of The Ivy Glasgow Brasserie at 30-40 St Vincent Place (which will move from Buchanan Street).
The brand-new home of the two Ivys is a Category A-listed building that dates back to the 1870s and was originally constructed for the City of Glasgow Bank. Inspired by the architecture of renaissance-era Florence, it features a gorgeous glass dome, ionic columns, symmetrical arcades and ornate leaded glazing.
Scotland’s first Ivy Asia will have 96 covers, with the same signature interiors as the existing branches. Yes, including those gleaming gemstone floors. We’re expecting a similar menu to the existing Ivy Asia restaurants, too. That would include dishes like gochujang chicken and caviar, lobster crisps, satay chicken yakitori, salmon teriyaki, five-spice confit duck leg and a selection of sushi and sashimi.
Ivy Glasgow Brasserie will have space for 344 diners. More details on both restaurants will be revealed in the coming weeks. We don’t know opening dates yet, but we know the current Ivy Glasgow Brasserie will serve its last dish on October 4.

‘Glasgow has an incredible food and drink scene and a strong sense of identity, so it was important that this next chapter felt genuinely part of the city. St Vincent Place gives us the opportunity to do that while creating something new for both existing guests and people discovering The Ivy for the first time.’
