Dishoom is opening a new restaurant in Leeds next month

What’s the first thing you think of when we say ‘bacon naan roll’? Dishoom, of course. It’s always good news when Dishoom comes to your town – so the residents of Leeds have a lot to get excited about in the coming weeks. The legendary Bombay cafe-inspired restaurant is opening its first location in the Yorkshire city next month.

Leeds’ new Dishoom will be on Vicar Lane in the former Flannels building, occupying a mega 8,000-sqft, two-floor space between the Victoria Gate and Victoria Quarter shopping centres. Ideal for mid-retail therapy daal. 

Dishoom Leeds will serve up all of the chain’s signature dishes: the decadent house black daal, crispy okra fries and rich chicken ruby curry, to name a few. Alongside these, the menu has three exclusive items you’ll only find at the Leeds location, like the malvani lamb curry (a slow-cooked leg of lamb made with roasted coconut, cardamom, chillies, and pippali pepper). You’ll also be able to get Kohra IPA, a West Coast session IPA brewed in collaboration with Leeds-based brewery Northern Monk, and Samir's Vice, a twist on the Miami Vice cocktail.

Better yet, Loiners won’t have long to wait until they can try out the city’s new Dishoom. A ‘soft launch’ will run from Monday August 3 until Thursday August 13 and offer 50 percent off food. While bookings have filled up quickly, the website states that most tables are reserved for walk-ins, so it’s worth popping in. The offer is on at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bookings for after the official opening on Friday August 14 are also now open.

The Leeds venue marks Dishoom’s 11th outpost overall and follows the announcement of the company’s eighth London restaurant in Borough, which is expected to open later this year. Meanwhile, Dishoom’s first international venture in New York is slated to open in 2027.
