If your idea of a great time is being able to strike skittles, belt out ‘Dancing Queen’ in a private room, play a few rounds of PacMan and shoot a laser gun all under one roof, then boy do we have some exciting news for you.

In one month’s time, Slough is getting a gigantic new £11 million entertainment hub named Mega City. It’ll open to the public on May 30 and, spanning three floors, will boast one of the most diverse line-ups of entertainment facilities in the country.

Consider yourself a tenpin pro? There are 10 bowling lanes where you can showoff your skills. Love the adrenaline that comes from zapping your opponents? There’s a laser tag area, laser raid and laser maze where you can zap to your heart’s content. Can’t get enough of arcade games? You’ll have a whopping 130 at your disposal.

On top of all that there’ll be AR clay pigeon shooting, AR darts, VR arenas, karaoke and private party rooms, batting cages, pool tables and more.

For the arcade machines and laser raid games, visitors can purchase a play card which will track how many points you rack up. Those points can then be redeemed for prizes at the end. For the experiences and group games, guest will have to book ahead of time. Then, you’ll get a QR code that you can scan at the relevant activity station and begin your session.

Of course, all that gaming will make for hungry work. To keep your energy up between activities, there’s a menu featuring hefty comfort dishes like burgers, hot dogs and loaded fries. There will also be a bar serving classic cocktails, craft beers, spirits, hot beverages and soft drinks.

Mega City is just an eight-minute walk from Slough station, which is on the Elizabeth line and only 30 minutes from London Paddington. It’s all indoors, so you can enjoy even when the British weather is at its worst.

ICYMI: This medieval English town’s abandoned lido is being turned into a waterpark.

Plus: The seaside event that will be Britain’s biggest cocktail festival this year.
