Hear ye, hear ye: musical fans across the UK will finally get to be in ‘the room where it happens’. Yep, that’s right: after more than five years in the capital, the award-winning ‘Hamilton’ will be embarking on its first nationwide tour. Producers are starting to assemble a fresh ensemble of actors and dancers who will rap their way through America’s origin story on stages across the country later this year.

Cameron Mackintosh, the theatrical bigwig whose company is running the tour, said: ‘I am thrilled that it is time to put together a second British national touring company to bring this great show to our leading cities. Opening first in Manchester, followed by Edinburgh – not far from where the real story of Alexander Hamilton began in Ayrshire, where his father was born in the 1700s, before he moved to Nevis in the West Indies.’

When do tickets go on sale for the Hamilton tour?

Tickets for both the Manchester and Edinburgh runs will be available from March 13. Eager fans can sign up for priority access via the Hamilton website here

How much do tickets cost?

Prices for the tour are yet to be revealed. However, if the London shows are anything to go by, seats could cost anything from £20 to £250.

What dates are on the tour?

So far we know that the show will first arrive at Manchester Palace Theatre from November 11 2023 and run until February 24 2024. After that, the cast will head north to the Edinburgh’s Festival Theatre for a run lasting from February 28 to April 27 2024.

More dates are set to be announced soon.
