London’s XOYO is heading north. The Shoreditch club is one of the best-known partying spaces in the capital and now, thanks to its prevailing popularity, XOYO has officially announced that it will be opening a sister venue in Birmingham in the autumn.

As part of the announcement, cryptic posters reading ‘All we wanna do is dance’ popped up around the West Midlands city. Curious passersby were able to scan a QR code which then took them to the brand new XOYO Birmingham website

A caption on XOYO Birmingham’s Instagram reads: ‘Created by and for the people of Birmingham, this space will serve as a vibrant hub where creativity, music and community converge,’ and in another post it adds that it will ‘embrace homegrown talent in the Midlands.’

Though we don’t know who this homegrown talent might be yet, we might get some clues on what vibes to expect from the history of its London counterpart. XOYO London opened in 2010 and has hosted residencies from the likes of Andy C, Goldie, Flava D, Interplanetary Criminal and Heidi.

The new venue tweeted that it will ‘redefine the city’s nightlife experience’, joining the likes of LAB11, Snobs, Tunnel Club and the Mill already in the area. According to a countdown on the website, it looks like the venue will open on Friday, September 15. The specific location is still to be confirmed but you can sign up to XOYO's mailing list here to stay in the loop.
