Rally up, folks! Americana-inspired festival State Fayre is a brand new camping festival pitching up in Chelmsford next summer.

As the name suggests the new fest wants to recreate the vibes of all-American state fairs – those annual gatherings full of fairground rides, carnival games, cotton candy and corn dogs – and tailgate parties, where families grill meats and sink beers in stadium parking lots. And, it’s throwing some huge music acts into the mix.

Kings of Leon, Neil Young and the Chrome Hearts and the Lumineers are set to headline the three-day fest. They’ll be joined by the likes of Elvis Costello, the Black Crowes and a whole host of other artists spanning rock, country and folk.

With a capacity of around 30,000, it’s set to be the UK’s largest music and BBQ festival. There’ll be three main music stages, a huge BBQ pit, fairground rides and a spread of tents with veggie and vegan grub, live food talks and demonstrations and plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic bevs. Sounds awesome, right? Here’s everything you need to know if you want to be there.
