Cult electronic music festival Terminal V said goodbye to Edinburgh this year – here’s where it’s heading next.

Edinburgh suffered a big loss in April. It said farewell to Terminal V, the major electronic music festival that called the city home for nine years. When we say ‘major’, we mean one of the greatest electronic music festivals in the Europe. Since launching in 2017, the fest has welcomed more than a quarter of a million fans, hosted some of the biggest names in techno and branched out with editions in Croatia, London and, next year, Australia.
Terminal V left Edinburgh with a huge bang as more than 100 artists (like Adrián Mills, Eternalism and Biianco) lit up the six different stages at the Royal Highland Centre. It wasn’t goodbye to Scotland good though – while it was the end of an era for Terminal V, it was by no means the end of the road.
Last week, organisers announced that the Terminal V 2027 is happening in Glasgow. And for the first time, it’ll be fully outdoors. All we know about the exact location so far is that it’s an ‘undiscovered industrial’ site in the ‘heart of Glasgow’. The move west coincides with the festival’s 10th birthday, so it’s fair to expect that organisers have some big things up their sleeves. More details have been promised in due course.
Derek Martin, co-founder of the festival said: ‘As we head into our 10th anniversary year, it felt like the right moment to evolve Terminal V once again. Creating our first ever fully outdoor festival in a new setting in Glasgow gives us the opportunity to take Terminal V to the next level, while staying true to the industrial identity that has always been part of the brand.’
Tickets for Terminal V 2027 went on sale at 10am on June 2. Get yours here.
