Do you fancy yourself a bit of a general-knowledge master? Always spouting random facts at parties? We might have just found your dream gig.

British TV staple University Challenge is searching for some new question writers to add to its talent pool. The quiz show pits the country’s brightest (and quirkiest) students against each other, and so as expected, candidates for this role will need to possess some pretty impressive general knowledge themselves.

But that’s not all. The show’s production company, Lifted Entertainment, wants someone who can add a bit of pizzazz to the quiz show format by making questions imaginative and original. It adds that prior experience in question writing in a TV or amateur quizzing environment will up your chances of securing the role.

Ideally, you also will have some familiarity with university students, understanding of cultural conversations around representation and awareness of the current secondary and higher-education curricula.

The job would be on a remote basis and if successful you will earn your keep submitting questions in batches of 35 starters and 25 bonus sets, maintaining a distinct voice and factual accuracy.

If you think this sounds right up your street, you’ve got until this Friday (March 17) to apply here.
