In the market for a bit of viral social media history? We might just have just the thing. The placid, azure blue waters of Brombil Reservoir in Wales – also known for being a hit on TikTok – has just hit the market.

Located in a valley in Margam, south Wales, the 200-year-old beauty spot is accessible only by foot. It’s also surrounded by spectacular views of the Gower peninsula, flourishing British wildlife and peaceful woodland. In other words, there are no noisy neighbours to worry about here.

While the reservoir is man-made, its Victorian-era architecture means it all looks rather lovely. And if you somehow grow tired of your self-contained slice of nature, you can take a hike and hit the rarely-used footpath trails between Bridgend and Neath.

If these bucolic scenes feel familiar, well, there might be a good reason for that. Last year a video of Brombil went viral on TikTok, gaining over a million views. Inevitably, this led to too many visitors, who incited the ire of local residents by creating severe parking issues and blocking up the roads. This led Neath Port Talbot Council to tell tourists to stay away and dish out fines if they didn’t. Bit harsh.

All’s well that ends well, though. Now the property could be yours and yours alone for the fairly affordable price of £75,000. If you’re a nature fan who’s sick of the UK’s housing market, head to estate agents Watts & Morgan’s site to find out more.
