Travel enthusiasts, rejoice: a new sleeper train opening in the new year is set to transport Brits from London to Berlin in less than 16 hours.

From May 25 2023, the new international service will allow passengers to get from the UK to the German capital with just one stop in between. All you need to do is jump on the train at London St Pancras in the afternoon, hop onto a European Sleeper night service in Brussels, then wake up in Berlin the following morning. And the best thing? Breakfast is apparently included.

According to The Man in Seat 61, Eurostar journeys will depart daily from St Pancras at 15.04 and arrive in Brussels Midi at 18.04. There will be a quick changeover in Brussels before the overnight European Sleeper train to Germany departs at 19.22 (on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), arriving in Berlin Hauptbahnhof at 06.48 the following morning.

European Sleeper prices will start €49 for a seat, €79 for a couchette (a seat that converts into a bed) and €109 for a more comfortable sleeper compartment, allowing plenty of options for travellers to wake up feeling fresh. Bookings will open on February 20 2023.
