Dance Flick

Dance Flick

It’s about time those highfalutin dance movies got taken down a peg or two. Leave it to the genre-eviscerating wit of the ever-expanding Wayans brood to take on the rash of big-screen B-boy servings that have popped up in recent years. Dance Flick, a mishmash of Stomp the Yard, You Got Served and many others besides, isn’t a total waste—Damon Wayans Jr. has better than fair comic timing, and any screen time with Chris Elliott is good screen time. The art of spoofing, though, is as bankrupt as Michael Jackson.—Drew Toal
