Time Out says

If you spend time around San Francisco's picturesque Telegraph Hill area, you're likely to be greeted by a strange sight: flocks of nonnative tropical parrots inexplicably nesting in neighborhood trees. Director Irving's original idea was to explore this unnatural phenomenon. But her cameras quickly began to gravitate toward a decidedly more human element—namely, Mark Bittner, the self-styled vagabond who spent his days feeding, naming and occasionally nurturing each of these wild birds. Anyone with a low tolerance for touchy-feely nature talk, however, will wish Irving had simply stuck with the birds.
