Sometimes, your boss gets in the way of your greatness—which is exactly the premise of the next season of Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen, premiering on Netflix on Thursday, September 3.
The streamer released the full-length trailer for season 2 on Monday, with news that the action-comedy has already been renewed the show for a third season. Here's everything you need to know about the upcoming eight-ep second season.

What is The Gentlemen season 2 about?
Season 2 picks up a year after Eddie (Theo James) became the reluctant heir to his family’s estate and joined forces with Susie Glass (Kaya Scodelario) and her lightly incarcerated father, Bobby (Ray Winstone). Now, Eddie is discovering that being a power player in the criminal underworld fits him like an immaculately tailored suit. He's scaling his empire and leaning hard into his new role.
“They’re operating in Italy under the radar,” says lead writer and executive producer Matthew Read. Regardless, Eddie is introduced to Marco Moretti (Sergio Castellitto), a ruthless Italian crime boss and his fixer Cico Maldini (Michele Morrone).
“[Cico] is the man they’re entrusting to help them navigate their criminal enterprise in Italy, but he’s not a man to be trusted,” Read said.
According to Variety, “Season 2 was always going to be about Eddie expanding the reach of his criminal empire and testing the relationship Eddie has with Bobby Glass as the person he’s working under," Read told them.
James, who plays Eddie, says his character's ambition is about to burst out.
"By Season 2, he is a man very much at the helm of it, and he’s bought into the possibilities of what both worlds can bring him, both as an aristocrat and a criminal," James tells Tudum. "That ignites a fiery ambition in him, and it also starts to move the ego. It gives him the ability to make decisions based on this idea of wanting more."

As for the third season, Ritchie says he is "looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further.”
Along with more from The Gentlemen, Netflix also ordered the renewal of other U.K.-based shows, including Black Mirror Season 8, Legends Season 2, Being Gordon Ramsay Season 2, Supacell, Black Doves and House of Guinness.
