Spent too much money on late night cabs this weekend? Those days (or more accurately, nights) will soon be over, because TfL has announced a new start date for the night tube service. We know, you've heard it all before, but this time it's true. Honest. The new 24-hour weekend service is set to launch on August 19 on the Central and Victoria lines. Hooray!

The nocturnal service will launch on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines sometime in the autumn. There's no specific date on that front yet, but hey, two lines are better than none. The date was announced this morning by London's new mayor, Sadiq Khan, who's wasted no time in getting our public transport in order. He's already set plans in motion to launch the 'hopper' bus ticket and said that getting the night tube up and running was 'a priority'. Thanks Sadiq!
