You'll soon be able to order an Uber to your friend's location

Ever lost your mates on a night out? Don't worry, we've all been there. But Uber has recently announced that a feature on its new rider app will make it easier to track your pals down when they go MIA.

The function works by letting you set your destination to a person in your phone's contacts rather than a location. But if that sounds like it could get a little creepy, rest assured that the other person will need to approve the request before their location is shared. Phew.

It's all part of the app's fancy makeover that's being rolled out globally with the hopes it'll make hitching a ride a lot more intuitive. But we're not 100 percent convinced by all the new plans – like Snapchat filters to keep us pre-occupied. Erm, really? We'll just take the quicker route, thanks.
