N8 is great: this multi-venue festival offers 12 nights of live music in Crouch End

As Jim Morrison once sang: ‘This is the end… Crouch End.’ This November, sedate N8 becomes a musical wonderland once again as The End festival takes over. Set up by seasoned promoter and local resident Howard Monk, The End has been bringing great acts to the area since 2010 with a slant towards up-and-coming indie pop and folk acts. This year it’s bigger than ever, expanding to a massive 12 days with bands including The Wave Pictures and Lowpines. As well as all the gigs there are talks and DJ sets by music-industry insiders. Yes, it’s a bit of a trek, and no, there isn’t a tube station – but this autumn Crouch End is the place to be. End of.
