  • Shopping here is rather a mixed bag nowadays. Their sales staff are excellent and have saved our extended family probably about 20k in the last couple of years alone. They have an amazing amount of product knowledge and you get the feeling that they are as interested in designing a perfect bathroom as you are. The shop is also quite a treasure trove akin to wandering into a hidden bazaar and they also seem to be able to get their hands on any piece of kit anywhere in the world. However the downside is that dealing with their non-sales staff can be frustrating in the extreme. Whilst waiting to be served (a busy Friday) the receptionist did little to hide her lack of interest and continued with her sudoku puzzle, breaking off only to answer the telephone in an offhand manner and slamming the receiver down after every call. A stocky guy wandered through and we thought he might be a manager coming to apologise for the delay but all he did was stand giggling with said girl and then waddle back out of sight whilst playing with an iPad. The admin staff at their warehouse appear to have the same lazy attitude. We stood waiting on the steps after buzzing the entryphone while a bald type sat chatting on his mobile and pretending not to notice us, though to be fair the operative who did eventually let us in was very pleasant and helpful. I would still recommend the place because in the final analysis the advice and help you receive when planning bathrooms is second to none (we have had more than enough horror stories at supposedly top notch bathroom suppliers over the years). Just don't expect the same level of helpfulness and efficiency from the rest of the staff (hence the lost gold star).

  • Great choice and knowledgeable We have created an ensuite shower room as part of the master bedroom and bought the fittings from Aston Matthews. This is a large showroom with plenty of choice of glass shower screens, shower heads and shower trays. We also bought a wall hung toilet and basin plus taps. I found the staff to be really helpful. They took time to listen to what we had planned for the project and then recommended suitable fittings. The ensuite is now finished and it looks stunning, plus everything works perfectly. I would recommend Aston Matthews if you are refurbishing your bathroom, ensuite or cloakroom

  • Great choice and knowledgeable We created a shower room as an ensuite to our main bedroom. Aston Matthews is a big shop with plenty of choice of shower doors, shower head and tray. We also chose a wall hung basin and toilet plus taps. I found the staff to be really helpful, they took time to find out about my project and give sensible advice on the best bathroom fittings to choose. Everything is now in place and the ensuite looks fantastic and works well too. I would recommend Aston Matthews if you are doing up your bathroom, shower or cloakroom

  • We pride ourselves on our product knowledge and service levels before, during and after sale. Since bathroom cabinets with sensors appeared in the market place the distributors and retailers have become aware of the sensitivity of the sensor relative to the varying possible installation scenarios. All our displays now clearly state the relevant information.

  • Products missold and awful aftersales service: Purchased an above sink cabinet with lights triggered by sensor at the side of cabinet. We discussed the product and the location of the cabinet with one of the sales team who did not realise that these types of cabinets have to be fitted over 15cm from the wall. Light now on all the time and Aston Matthews have been only rude and dismissive on the phone- AFTER CONFESSING THAT THEY HAVE HAD REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH THESE CABINETS AND SIMILAR TAPS WITH SENSORS. My advice is to shop elsewhere.
