The Beginnings of that Freedome

This large scale exhibition of banners in the medieval Westminster Hall commemorates 800 years of history. The 18 themes within the work take in the most significant movements and moments that have formed the rights and representation of modern day society. Nine artists have been commissioned to make work spanning themes that include the emergence of Parliament, the Civil War, Suffrage Acts and the development of civil and human rights. The exhibition is free to anyone visiting the Houses of Parliament for tours, debates or business. Advanced booking for tours is advised.
