Alessandro Pessoli, "Fired People"

The title of Pessoli's show may have a double meaning, referring to both the state of the world economy and the process behind his brightly glazed ceramic figurines. The work is fun to look at, with its blobby, biomorphic forms suggesting people and animals, arranged into groups on bronze stands, with painted-canvas backdrops thrown in to evoke stage settings.
