Music brings together two Iraqi brothers separated by exile in Benson’s show, which features video and sculpture. In the video, the brothers can be seen performing a duet together from their respective homes in Germany and Bahrain. Each plays an Iraqi string instrument that has been sawn in half, a metaphor, perhaps, for their state of disconnection. The idea is further explored in still-life sculptures that include bisected and recombined instruments ranging from guitars to cellos. Through Dec 5.
