Small objects are usually what come to mind when considering the work of Ken Price (1935–2012), the West Coast ceramic artist whose innovations during his five-decade career helped revolutionize the medium. He’d intended to create large fired-clay sculptures all along but wasn’t able to until 2006, when he created the seven-foot-tall Bulgolgi. The examples here comprise the eight additional oversize works he completed between 2009 and 2011, the year before his death.
