Time Out says

Lutz (1940–2009) was born in Switzerland, and from 1993 until his death, he lived in a small East Village apartment, which became, effectively, the studio for an extraordinary series of movies starring himself as the protagonist of dreamlike scenes. Often completely covered—face and all—in a kind of white space suit, Lutz can be seen interacting with objects, sets and props, seemingly afloat in the cosmos, thanks to his use of double exposure and montage. Sometimes his films were shown as installations, projected Tony Oursler–style on three-dimensional forms like balloons. The Kitchen revisits the artist’s films, along with his drawings and artist books.
