Time Out says

In lieu of canvas, the paintings here by Los Angeles artist Rodney McMillian were done a bed sheets bought at thrift store. The abject origins of the work is underscored by McMillian’s effluvial pours of paint covering each set of sheets like bodily fluids left to harden. The results are hung on the wall un-stretched and sagging under the weight of the pigment, which sometimes runs off the edge of the surface onto the floor. The artist refers to these works as landscape paintings that map the terrain of sexuality, intimacy, identity and personal privacy.
