Even if you don’t believe in ghost stories, you’ll probably get goose bumps during candlelight tours of the Merchant’s House Museum. Staff members who’ve personally experienced freaky phenomena inside the building lead groups through three darkened floors of the 19th-century residence. Little touches, like black-crepe-shrouded mirrors—which are covered to keep the departed's faces from appearing unexpectedly—add to the creepy atmosphere.
