“I’m sorry, is my smoke bothering you?” asked a stylish young woman. She didn’t add “Too bad,” but she could have: This is one of the city’s few legal cigarette lounges. Some 150 exotic smokes are offered for sale; a “flight” of one of each brand is $1,500. The other tasting menu features such pairings as three special champagne kirs (apricot, raspberry and peach) with slices of rare filet mignon on a buttered croissant followed by Shepheard’s Hotel German cigarettes.
