A travel advisory is in effect for this weekend

By now you've gotten word—probably via text from your out-of-town grandparent or auntie—that the first major snowstorm of the season is coming to New York City this weekend. Add Mayor Bill de Blasio to that chorus of voices telling you to stock up on mac-n-cheese and frozen pizzas. The mayor's office has issued a travel advisory for Saturday, January 23 through Sunday, January 24, warning folks of heavy snow, high winds and potentially slick roads. That's in addition to the blizzard watch in effect from early Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon, which means, you'll probably want to take your aunt's advice and stay home, put on some Netflix and try not to run out of wine.
