Yesterday brought the sad news of the death of Ben Bradlee, the longtime Washington Post editor who transformed that newspaper into a powerhouse via its Watergate coverage and beyond. Bradlee will forever be a symbol of toughness and refinement—essential qualities for an editor. Unusually, he saw himself valorized during his own lifetime by a Hollywood movie, All the President's Men, which plays Tuesday 28 at 9:30pm at Williamsburg's Nitehawk Cinema (136 Metropolitan Ave). It's a film we would shout out to regardless of the sad circumstances. Jason Robards (pictured) does a brilliantly terse job as Bradlee; he won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for this performance. Few are the Academy Award winners who had to create a portrayal of a still-living person. Go, sit with all the other teary Bradlee fans, and bask in one of the 1970s finest thrillers.
