In order to celebrate Citi Bike’s 2015 expansion, NYC Bike Share, the operator of the system, is hosting a special “bike-in” screening of the classic Spielberg film, E. T. the Extra-Terrestrial next Tuesday at 50 Kent Ave. The event is free but you do need to register. Citi Bike members will get VIP seating, but the screening is open to the general public. Free valet bike parking will be available to everyone. (Fancy!)

Before the film, from 6pm to 7:30pm, Bike New York will be on hand to provide free bike skills classes before the movie starts at 8pm. In addition to Antiwater and Two Trees Management, the night is being sponsored by Reese’s Pieces which means you’ll definitely have all the necessary accessories for one of the film’s most iconic scenes.

Citi Bike is adding 139 new stations this year, bringing the bike share system to Long Island City, Greenpoint, Bed-Stuy, Williamsburg and north to 86th St. in Manhattan.
