USA! USA! This Friday, for the first time in 55 years, women will get to parade along the Canyon of Heroes. To celebrate the U.S. soccer team's world cup victory, the 23-member team will be showered with the traditional confetti in true New York City style. And everyone should go cheer them on. Here are the details:
Time: Festivities begin at 11am this Friday, July 10.
Tickets: Anyone can line the streets for the parade, but if you want to attend a ceremony at City Hall afterwards, you have to request tickets. To sign up (they're free), go to the city's parade webpage between 2pm–4pm this afternoon.
Route: The city hasn't released an official map yet, but the parade almost always runs along Broadway, beginning at Battery Park and ending at City Hall. Here's some more information on the route and how to get there.
