Giant, glowing bunnies will soon invade Brookfield Place

A little (well, actually, huge) post-Easter surprise will soon make its way to New York in the form of gigantic, lit up rabbits. Seven glowing bunnies (some two stories tall) created by Australian artist Amanda Parer will take over Brookfield Place (230 Vesey St) in Battery Park City from April 17–30, towering over us mere humans. The installation is called "Intrude," maybe because the artist wants you to feel like the hares are all up in your space. "People see the work and initially see the rabbits as cute," Parer told Boston magazine. "Then they approach the work and might feel a little bit of fear because they’re so big and giant… I wanted them to look like they’ve just hopped into—or intruded into—the space."
