Do you call yourself a New Yorker? What qualifies you to be one? And when did you know? This week, we grapple with the questions lots of NYC transplants wonder: Am I really part of this thing? Is New York home? The only way to answer those queries, of course, is to pinpoint the quintessential city experiences that everyone here must have, both wonderful and terrifying. So this week, we chart the things every real New Yorker must do, from making out in a taxi to seeing a movie screening at Bryant Park. Wondering how many you've done? Check 'em off on our list.

And we also want to know when you really felt like a New Yorker for the first time. Tell us by leaving a Facebook comment or tweeting at us with the hashtag #imanewyorker. We’ll round up our favorite responses on Thursday.

Of course, that's not all we've got going on this week. Elsewhere in the issue, we catch up with Michael Showalter and David Wain about the star-studded Wet Hot American Summer reboot on Netflix, which comes out July 31. Plus, comedic duo Desus and Mero take us on a tour of their home turf in the Bronx (which mostly consists of awesome food). And we talk to Jake Gyllenhaal about playing a boxing champ in his new film, Southpaw.

Get out and enjoy yourself, New Yorkers!
