Snow is coming for New York tonight

We tried to hide, but it finally found us.

A small amount of snow has somehow managed to sneak past the sweet, warm embrace of El Niño and is expected to fall on the Tri-State area this evening like a small fistful of confetti thrown weakly into the air by an unenthused (and frankly unwelcome) party guest.

Less than one inch of snowfall, or “a trace coating,” is forecast for New York City area with temperatures plunging into the 20s later tonight. More likely than not, New Yorkers can expect less of a winter wonderland tomorrow morning and more of the dreaded wintry mix of snow, ice and rain that defines most of the New York winter.

After tonight’s mild snowfall, the wind chill will dip between 10 to 15 degrees tomorrow. Time to break out the winter boots!
