When you live in the most expensive city in America, it can be hard to stick to a budget. Luckily, we've got you covered. Whether you're looking for a concertart exhibitcomedy show or even a date idea, there are plenty of places to have a good time without paying a dime. Here are the best free parties, cultural events and things to do between now and next Wednesday.

Tainted Love Dance Party
Passionate fans of the ’80s can shake their rumps and overly teased hair to the true gems of the era, like Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” and Throbbing Gristle’s “Hot on the Heels of Love.” From new wave to postpunk, glam rock and beyond, join DJ Jane Elizabeth as she tears the Bell House down with old-school but beloved CBGB-esque jams. The Bell House, 149 7th St Brooklyn (718-643-6510, thebellyhouseny.com). Thu 24 at 9pm.

The Bullshit Olympics
Put a pin in your pretense and rejoice in ridiculing the self-serious. Videology will showcase unbearable student films, existentialist essays and any other exhaustively serious works from recent years. Alice Roth and Ken Greller host the ego-deflating gathering. Videology, 308 Bedford Ave (718-782-3468, videologybrandcinema.com). Thu 24 at 7pm.

Just make sure to ask the Dwight Schrute (a.k.a. assistant to the regional manager) in your friend group to register your all-star team in advance.
