Are you single for the summer and looking for a buddy to share AC with? The dating app Weepo ("Swipe, chat and meet") may have some good leads for you.
Here's how the app works: You pick the bar or club you're heading to that night, and can see others that have chosen the same venue. From there, you can swipe right on people you like, and if you get a match, you can start chatting and plan to meet up at the spot later. It's a pretty good idea to go from app-to-real-life in record time, as well as have a date (or potential hookup) in mind for the evening. And, you don't have to yell at a complete stranger over loud music just to introduce yourself.
Weepo collected data from 35,000 New Yorkers who've been out on the town using the app. Here's data from Manhattan, Williamsburg and Queens (the areas with the biggest samples sizes). The bars named are the ones most users checked in to in the area, as well as the ones with the the highest female-to-male ratio, or vice versa. They range from dive bars to cocktail lounges, so take your pick!
