For anyone who has never been to a Wegmans, all the hoopla about the grocery store might seem a little strange. I mean…it's just a place to buy food, right? For anyone who's been inside, though, or anyone who grew up near one, the fanatical devotion to the Rochester-based supermarket is just a fact of life.

Wegmans is the best—why? It just is.

(The actual reasons have something to do with its excellent selection, low prices, great prepared foods and its consistent ranking as one of the country's best employers.)

The persistent question has always been: when will NYC get one? The short answer: 2017. That's when the store's first NYC outpost is set to open in the Admiral's Row at the Brooklyn Navy Yard (that's the Navy Yard's creepy abandoned Civil War-era homes for anyone keeping track).

Now that question's been answered you can focus on more important things like, what to get on your Danny's Favorite sub.
