Your commute home might be a real nightmare with the MTA reporting multiple subway delays

Today definitely has not been the best day for the MTA. After a technical glitch this morning caused MetroCard vending machines in about 100 stations to no longer accept debit and credit cards (Hope you had some cash on you!) signal problems at Grand Central shut down 7 trains between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza in both directions.

Now, the J, M, N Q, R, B and D trains are also reporting service disruptions due to problems ranging from signal issues to hanging wires. A train with mechanical problems in Columbus Circle around 3pm caused B service to be suspended between Brighton Beach and 145th Street with D trains being suspended between Herald Square and 125th Street. (Northbound D trains are now running on the C line between W 4th St and Columbus Circle.)

N trains are running with delays in both directions and some Northbound trains are terminating at Queensboro Plaza. (Earlier today, some commuters reported that they were waiting more than 30 minutes for trains.) Some Northbound Q trains are terminating at Times Square. Oh, and Northbound R trains are running with delays.

At least the L is running? In any case, definitely check for updates on the MTA's website before you leave the office today.

UPDATE: 7 trains are now running with delays, with no Main Street bound 7 train service between Queensboro Plaza and Mets-Willets Point.
