Music of Alvin Lucier

Veteran avant-garde composer Alvin Lucier, whose investigations into the nature of sound and resonance have changed the way composers and musicians of succeeding generations hear and listen, is the subject of a two-night celebration meant to contextualize his achievement. Pianist Stephen Drury leads the vivacious Callithumpian Consort tonight in pieces by Lucier and Tristan Murail; on Sat 29, Drury accompanies cellist Charles Curtis in works by Lucier and Morton Feldman.
