Live set: Shaded
The Sci+Tech label's Shaded plays his rubbery rhythms at Marquee.

Marquee’s got another night of electronic-dance-music action in store this Friday, this one focusing on Sci+Tec, the label run by former Deep Dish don–turned–techno titan Dubfire. He won’t be at the club himself, but he’s sending in an A-team lineup of labelmates to rock the rhythms, with the Junkies and Skyler “Shaded” Taugher in the club’s big booth. Taugher—a West Coaster who previously worked with Shoddy Lynn under the SHDWPLAY umbrella—is a bit of an unknown here in NYC. But he shouldn’t be: His has a sound that manages to be both deep and jacking, with rubbery bass and dub-worthy effects, that appeals to fans of both warehouse-style techno and deep house.
Marquee: Sci+Tec Showcase with the Junkies + Shaded is at Marquee Friday, April 12.
