The Rub's Eleventh Anniversary

Do you believe in numerology? We don’t. But it’s still kinda cool that one of the residents of long-running Brooklyn funkfest the Rub is called DJ Eleven—and the party just celebrated its eleventh anniversary on Saturday, July 27. And at any rate, eleven years is an amazing length of time for a shindig to last in clubland, no matter what the DJs are called. The anniversary shindig, which saw Eleven, his Rub partner DJ Ayres and special guest DJ Riz rocking the wheels of steel at the Bell House, was full of good vibes and great beats—here’s hoping for another eleven years of the same.

The next Rub is at the Bell House on August 31.
