Like Rodney Dangerfield, the Bloody Mary may get no respect in the cocktail world. But this second annual bartending competition gives the brunch warhorse the artisanal treatment, with variations from Booker and Dax, Saxon + Parole and DBGB. A panel of high-profile judges—including Jim Meehan (PDT), Kate Krader (Food & Wine) and Liza de Guia (Food Curated)—will name the best boozy concoction. Meanwhile, guests can sate themselves with unlimited four-ounce Bloody Mary samples, and register their two cents for the Drinkers’ Choice award. L’Apicio will provide brunch bites, like mini fried-chicken biscuit sandwiches, petite quiches lorraine and yogurt-and-granola shooters.
