Hill Country celebrates its sixth birthday the only way Texpats know how: with an all-you-can-eat, finger-lickin’ barbecue feast. Owner Marc Glosserman and chef Elizabeth Karmel head up the festivities with Shiner beer (in NYC for the first time in 104 years), boot-stomping tunes from Morgan O’Kane and Hill Country’s award-winning pit-smoked barbecue. Hors d'oeuvres include all-new beef and pork hot links, and oxtail tacos with cotija cheese and cilantro on griddled mini tortillas. Offerings at the carvings n’ pairings station—like Kreuz Market sausage with sauerkraut, or a whole hog with spicy slaw—are matched with flights of Shiner brews. More drinking can be done at the open bar, serving beer cocktails, margaritas and wine. Special desserts include Shiner floats (Shiner Black with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream) and mini versions of HC’s banana-pudding and peanut-butter-and-jelly cupcakes.
