In the four years since its inception, the Manhattan Cocktail Classic has become just that, a classic. The five-day cocktail fest raises a glass to New York’s boozy best, popping the cork with the dapper Opening Night Gala on May 17. The city’s most fashionable sippers and shakers pour into the New York Public Library for the black-tie soiree, complete with a three-hour tasting of 25,000 craft cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and high-flying entertainment (burly-Q babes, live bands) for a cool $195 (an extra hour of tippling sets you back another hunny). Following the gala, muscle up for a whopping 100 events throughout the city, from bartender brunches to bar crawls, hands-on mixology classes to tiki safaris. Cheer Grand Central’s centennial with The Cocktail Guru’s Jonathan and Jeff Pogash at the Campbell Apartment; get schooled on spirit-of-the-moment sherry at the Beagle and Mayahuel; and sip as the fancy folk do with an Eric Ripert–hosted pairing dinner at swank seafood temple Le Bernardin. Don’t dillydally—tickets went on sale Mar 15 and are already flying fast.
