Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum

Midtown West
This educational museum is located on an aircraft carrier, the USS Intrepid, and docked at Pier 86. Highlights include a restored fleet of jets, a helicopter flown in World War II, a mess hall decorated to look as it would have in 1969 and other interactive exhibits. But the crown jewel is the museum's 2012 acquisition: the Space Shuttle Enterprise, a NASA prototype from 1977 that now resides inside a specially designed pavilion on the ship's deck.
