Chicha Libre

Members of Bébé Eiffel, Las Rubias del Norte and One Ring Zero team up in Chicha Libre (named for an Incan corn alcohol) to play a spacey form of South American psychedelia. As you can hear on a new EP, Cuatro Tigres—celebrated at tonight's show—the group's cumbias amazónicas blend silky-smooth traditional grooves with funky surf guitars, Farfisa organ and Moog synthesizer.
