  • What a rip off this place was!!..First they charge you for your coats(slightly higher than other places, no biggie), then walk a few feet and the host expects $50(for a couple!) just to get in(no cover) and has the audacity to tell me that "This is how its done in America"...b*&c* Anyways pay that amount and go in to get a drink (JD and coke) costs $20 with tips(20%). Drink tasted strong and not mixed well but wait, I noticed that there was a cut in the glass and a piece was chipped off the edge!! Is that acceptable !!? Got it exchanged but the bar tender didn't sound too apologetic at all(like she is doing me a favor pouring out a drink that costs almost the cost of a bottle). While she was exchanging it, I noticed she was really rude taking drink orders from this chap(African American) next to me and both of us were talking about what a rip off this place is.The smoking section was too crowded and the guy at the restroom almost demands you a dollar at the door entrance. The acoustics was not great or maybe they just had it playing too loud than needed. I dont wanna sound too negative but this is the experience I had and when you are with a girl and all this things spoil your mood, I dont think it would make you wanna go back again especially with the options in NY so let me end with something positive about the place - The music and the DJ was really spinning some great house numbers and since Im into that music, I loved it(shazam in action!). I have been there before and it gets really wild with face painting, costumes and other crazy stuff. The people end up having a good time(1 out of 3 times Id say based on my experience) and the interiors of the place is really cool with a nice small dance floor right in the middle. There are plenty of options around meatpacking so I dont recommend spending it in Cielo(no value for money at all). Peace out Newyorkers!
