Gary Lucas: The Edge of Heaven

BAM Next Wave Festival. For some years now, local six-string maverick maestro Gary Lucas has been investigating the sweet sophistication of Chinese pop songs from the 1930s and ’40s. Here, in a special showcase suited to BAM's newest and most intimate space, singers Sally Kwok and Mo Hai Jin join Lucas and his band, accompanied by atmospheric slides of Shanghai street scenes.
