For years, any summer underground-metal happening NYC could muster felt like a consolation prize for those unable to attend the mighty Maryland Deathfest, held every Memorial Day weekend in Baltimore. But Martyrdoom, which launches its fourth annual installment this year, is emerging as a respectable contender, thanks to an impressive crop of international talent. The 2015 fest—stretching across five jam-packed nights—includes Sweden's ultra desolate Necrophobic (November 6), Italy's bestial Mortuary Drape (November 8, 9) and Ireland's epic, esoteric Malthusian (November 10).
